Superlative Adjectives
Superlatives compare one person or thing to all others in a group (three or more). Short adjectives use 'the -est'; long adjectives use 'the most + adjective'. Always preceded by 'the'. Often followed by 'in' (place/group) or 'of' (set).
Rules
Short adjectives
the + adjective + -est (the fastest, the cheapest)
Long adjectives
the most + adjective (the most efficient, the most reliable)
Irregular forms
good → the best | bad → the worst | far → the farthest/furthest | many/much → the most

She is the most experienced candidate on the shortlist.
The new model is the fastest in its category.
This is the least expensive option that meets our requirements.

Common Mistakes

Superlatives always require the definite article 'the' before them.
She is the most best candidate.
She is the best candidate.
'Best' is already the superlative of 'good' — do not add 'most'.
