Present Simple
What is the Present Simple?
The Present Simple tense is used to describe habits, routines, general truths, scheduled events, and permanent states. It is the most frequently tested tense in TOEIC Part 5.
Formula
Affirmative
S + V₁ (add -s/-es for he/she/it)
Negative
S + do not (don't) / does not (doesn't) + V₁
Question
Do / Does + S + V₁ + ?

Third-person spelling rules

Example Sentences
The company publishes its quarterly report every January.

Common Mistakes
She don't usually attend the briefing.
She doesn't usually attend.
Use 'doesn't' (not 'don't') for he/she/it.
He work here since 2020.
He has worked here since 2020.
'Since' requires Present Perfect, not Present Simple.
